Despite being too verbose for journalism, I admire and love it for the power it can wield - to inform, educate, spawn new ideas, spur folks into action, etc. However, I just loathe the assertion journalism “improves” when it becomes an instrument to gin up engagement in prop bets on current events and the lives of public figures. Seems to me that turns journalists into marketers.
Keep up your good work, your beau, too. After all, journalism cannot survive and thrive without youth being dared to dream it into existence. Whattaya suppose the odds are on that, and where can I make my play?
journalism is so important - rooting for you and all the other future journalists out there!
