Sounds like exactly where I went to college - Kenyon College. I enjoy not knowing as much about people in the years since graduation, so I don't tend to read this kind of writing

OMG I, in fact, *also* went to Kenyon College! What year were you?

I feel like I was meant to go to Kenyon but nobody ever told me about it.

I knew it - the size and mile-long campus was a dead giveaway. I'm substantially older than you (class of 1987), but it was still exactly like this then. What year were you?

I graduated 2015! Was just back last year for my ten year reunion <3

Nice - I hope you had a great time!

I'm outraged by the high quality of your essay (well done).

I had a conversation with a writer friend the other week about how annoyed I was that *writers of prominence* couldn't not take something seriously for two seconds. I'm team BE MESSY, write a good story, don't be boring. So I appreciate every word of what you wrote.

If I'm being really honest: I hate the braided essay, it has encouraged writers to appear more clever than they actually are, make every piece too long, and bore everyone.

Extreme mass entitlement has developed as a result of this and it needs to calm down!

Great writing, as usual. I understand losing a friend over their not subscribing. Decided I must re-up to support good journalism. Belt tightening be damned!

Totally relate to this, for a while now I think some have felt a need to moralise their feelings to make them seem justified. If you don't feel comfortable thinking 'I find this celebrity annoying, they're not for me', it makes sense you'd come up with a niche reason your dislike is 'correct', and not just a feeling you're experiencing.

My one overarching comment about the topic of this piece: it's not that serious.

Do you think it’s “over-sensitivity” as well? Like everything is a personal affront to us and so we must be outraged? Or are these different ideas?

The ironic part is all the bitches calling them bad parents probably looooved The Toast.
